I need prayer in allowing me to forgive myself for past mistakes made several years ago. I know has forgiven me, but I live in constant fear of future punishment for these mistakes. I cant sleep well or relax. Im constantly replaying thing from the past in my mind. Its driving me crazy!

The Lord has forgiven those who falsely accused him, nailed him to a tree and rejected all the love he has freely given them and sacrificed everything to save them. Our mistakes are forgiven by God the minute we accept Christ in our lives. While we are burdened with memory, the guilt we feel helps us to realize our mistakes and helps us not repeat them. I have sins I can’t forgive myself for, But I draw comfort from Christ, who has forgiven me by paying the wages of my sin. Draw comfort from the love of a God that has given everything for you and who rejoices in your faith, not lingers on your failures. .

  2. I have had the same tormenting notions. I know He has forgiven me, but I just could not truly believe it. One day I opened my bible by His leading to Isaiah 55:6-9. Verses 6 and 7 are urgering one to repent and assures the individual that God is ready, now, to forgive; however, verses 8-9 clearly defy all logic, that is, although I know he forgives me, logically, it can’t be. I’m to bad–heres the good part: “My thoughts are not your thoughts. Neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. He is telling us that His ability to completely forgive goes way, way beyond our reasoning. That’s way we can relax and thankfully be assured of forgiveness.
